FALL - WINTER 2015

MOSKOV Fall - Winter 2015, Gilded Cage, is inspired by the Victorian era in London, Japan and New England. While visiting art studios in Boston, co-creators Khristine Catacutan and Dan Moskovenko were enthralled by the Victorian architecture. As they began researching the history of London during the Victorian era, they stumbled upon the Japanese Meiji period and greatly admired how Eastern and Western culture influenced each other and grew in similar ways. This set the tone for the collection, as expressed by gowns wrapped in custom-printed silk and satin, versatile day-to-evening looks, and coats draped in wool and pony skin.

Custom prints in the collection -- Harlequin Ducks, white Japanese Stewartia, Imperial Moths, and a floral oil pastel based on James Tissot’s “Chrysanthemums” -- were heavily influenced by the flora and fauna at Martha’s Vineyards.
